We are aware of some of the issues you may be encountering regarding the syncing of your roster from HUDL to MaxPreps. 

We understand the confusion and frustration this may be causing you and want to help make the MaxPreps/HUDL sync experience the best it can possibly be.   

How does the MaxPreps/HUDL sync work? 

The majority of information posted in HUDL will sync over to MaxPreps automatically. Your schedules, rosters, videos, etc. in HUDL will sync to MaxPreps whenever any update is made in HUDL. This will overwrite any changes that have been made in MaxPreps because the data-sync between MaxPreps and HUDL is one-directional. 

It is crucial to note that you should make even the smallest of roster changes (jersey numbers, height/weight, spelling, etc.) in HUDL rather than MaxPreps. Changes made in MaxPreps will more than likely be overridden and revert back to the information listed in HUDL. 

Rosters on MaxPreps displaying athletes that are no longer on the team.

One of the most common issues we hear is about rosters syncing to MaxPreps including athletes who are no longer with the program.

Any athletes that have graduated but are still displaying on your MaxPreps roster are coming over from your public roster in HUDL. To remove the athletes from your public roster in HUDL, follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your HUDL account. Hover over the Team button and select Manage Team.
  2. In the top-right corner of the page, click on the Public Roster button.2021-09-07_13-00-37.jpg
  3. Make sure you are in the current season on the left-hand side of the page.
  4. Athletes will be displayed here. If the athlete should be syncing over to MaxPreps, make sure that the Yes button is selected. For athletes that should not be displayed in MaxPreps, select the No option.

  5. Athletes with No selected will be removed from MaxPreps. Changes typically will display after 15-30 minutes. If you continue to see the athlete on MaxPreps, you can delete the athlete there with no worry of them re-appearing now!

We also recommend going through your HUDL rosters by season and removing athletes who are no longer on the team. 

  1. Login to your HUDL account. Hover over the Team button and select Manage Team.
  2. On the left-hand side of the page, select your current season. You should see a list of your athletes here.
  3. Go through the roster and select the athletes who are not currently a part of the program. While selecting athletes you will see a blue bar appear showing how many athletes were selected, and options to Add to Another Team, Remove from *Current Season*, and Remove from Team. 
  4. Once you have completed selecting athletes, hit the option to Remove from *Current Season*.
  5. This will remove the selected athletes from your current season's roster without removing the athlete's access to the team. This way they are able to continue to access videos, stats, etc. from the years they were a part of the program.
