What can you do as a parent on MaxPreps?
If a parent has claimed their child's profile, they will have the ability to customize their child's player profile page.
What can I manage on a player profile page?
By claiming your child's page, you are given the tools to customize, edit, and add information to maximize all MaxPreps has to offer.
- Roster Photos
Photos can be added to every sport/sport season for an athlete. - Strengths
Comments can be added on an athlete's strengths, PRs, and accomplishments. - Resume
Add your athlete's accomplishments on the field and in the classroom by posting your child's athletic awards, GPA, SAT, and ACT scores to impress college scouts. - Club Teams
Add any club teams your child is a part of.

Now you can easily connect all their pages together to have their entire high school athletic career displayed on one page!
Post any videos saved to your mobile device to help get your child noticed by college scouts!
How do I claim my child's profile?
You can claim your child's profile easily in just a quick few steps! Follow the instructions below to do so:
- Head to MaxPreps.com
- If you are logged in, click the magnifying glass icon in the top right section.
- Type in your child's name, then hit, "Search."
- From the list of athletes displayed, click on your child's name.
- Once the page loads, you will see an option to Claim and Follow. Select the claim option and confirm you are the athlete's parent.
That's it! Once you successfully complete these steps, you will be able to manage your child's profile.
- Head to MaxPreps.com
- If you are logged in, click the magnifying glass icon in the top right section.
- Type in your child's name, then hit, "Search."
- From the list of athletes displayed, tap on your child's name.
- Once the page loads, you will see an option to Claim and Follow. Select the claim option and confirm you are the athlete's parent.
That's it! Once you successfully complete these steps, you will be able to manage your child's profile.
- Open the MaxPreps app.
- In the top right corner, tap the magnifying glass icon in the top right section.
- Select the, "Athletes" tab.
- Select the sport your child plays from the drop-down menu, then type in your child's name and hit, "Search."
- Select the, "Claim" option on the top right corner of the player profile page.
- On the confirmation pop-up, select, "This is my child."
That's it! Once you have confirmed, you will be able to start managing your child's profile.
If you are unable to claim your child's profile, please reach out to our support team by submitting a request here and we will be able to assist you.
Please be sure to include the following in your request:
- The URL to the athlete you are attempting to claim.
- Your relationship to the athlete.
- Your email address you signed up for MaxPreps with.
No worries! If you need to unclaim an athlete from your account, follow the instructions below:
- Head to your membership page by following this link: MaxPreps Membership Page.
- In the, "Connected Profile" section, click "Unlink" for the athlete you would like to unclaim.
- Select, "Yes" to confirm the unclaiming.
Once claimed, how do I manage their page?
You can manage your child's profile in just a few easy steps! Follow the instructions below to do so:
- Head to MaxPreps.com
- If you are logged in, click on the white profile icon in the top right corner of the page.
- A fly-out menu will appear. In the top left corner, click on the gear icon.
- In the, "Connected Profiles" section, click on the athlete you are looking to manage. This will bring you to that athlete's player profile page.
- From here, select the "Edit Profile" option.
- From here you can manage any specifics you would like to. Click on each tab on the left hand side to toggle through categories.
Once you have finished making any changes, click the save button in the bottom right corner. Your changes will display on the site within 10-15 minutes.
- Head to MaxPreps.com
- If you are logged in, click on the white profile icon in the top right corner of the page.

- On the profile tab, you'll scroll through and select any option to add/edit, then hit, "Save."
That's it! Once you have saved the changes, you should see them appear on the site in 10-15 minutes.
How do I manage roster photos?
Adding, editing, and deleting roster photos can be done in just a few clicks. To do so, follow the instructions below:
- Head to MaxPreps.com
- If you are logged in, click on the white profile icon in the top right corner of the page.
- A fly-out menu will appear. In the top left corner, click on the gear icon.
- In the, "Connected Profiles" section, click on the athlete you are looking to manage. This will bring you to that athlete's player profile page.
- From here, select the "Photos" tab from the navigation bar.
- You will see a box for each sport season your child has participated in. Click on the box that corresponds to which season you would like the photo to be connected to.
- Click on the profile icon, and select the photo you would like to post.
- Once you have added the image, you can resize the image to fit the frame.
- Select, "Save" once you are ready to post the photo.
